2010-02-16: King Cake results from the Showboat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic
City (each King Cake was 12 Ounces): - Pat "Deep Dish"
Bertoletti: 14 King Cakes (Pat is the Bread and Sweets King!)
- Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas: 10.5 (I cannot complain. I did well, but I
wish Pat had stayed in Chicago this time.)
- Notorious B.O.B. Shoudt:
9 (The "Humble" one has been on a tear for the last year, rarely losing.)
- Sean “Flash” Gordon: 6.5
- Micah “Wing
Kong” Collins: 6.5
- "The Lovely" Juliet Lee (World's
best competitive eating mom!): 6
- Dave “US Male”
Goldstein: 6
- "Pretty Boy" Pete Davekos: 5.5
Note: I remembered these results, but I confirmed them at http://twitter.com/eatingcontest/statuses/9205134093. 2010-02-13: With all
the record-setting snow we had in the DC metro area this past week, I'm glad there were no competitions scheduled this
past week or last weekend, because I wouldn't have been able to make it. All forms of transportation were shut down in the
DC metro area. Here are the record-setting amounts we've had so far this winter ... and the winter's not over: Reagan National
Airport, Arlington, VA - 55.9; Dulles International Airport, Chantilly, VA - 72.8." 2010-02-05: I was saddened to learn
that the great Ed "Cookie" Jarvis, the legendary United States competitive eating champion in 2002 and 2003,
and lifetime IFOCE supporter, is undergoing cancer-related surgery on 22 Feb 10, according to his Web site at http://www.hugeeaters.com. May he have a complete, timely recovery!
